Ayutthaya was an old Siamese kingdom that existed in Thailand in 1351-1767, until the Burmese invaded and destroyed it. Wat Phra Si Sanphet was built in 1448 by King Borommatrailokanat. It was used as burial grounds for kings and members of the royal family, as well as a venue for rituals and royal ceremonies.
