The Garuda Pancasila is the national emblem of Indonesia. This emblem features plenty of symbolism. For example, the five symbols on the shield of the Garuda correspond to the five Pancasila principles. Also, the number of feathers on the Garuda correspond to Indonesia’s date of independence, 17 August 1945. There are 17 feathers on each wing, 8 (August is the 8th month) on the tail, 19 on the base of the tail, and 45 on the neck. This Golden Garuda Pancasila can be found at the Independence Room of the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta.
