Negros Island

In a few hours, I will be boarding Cebu Pacific flight 5J 477, departing at 1:45pm and arriving in Bacolod at 2:55pm. Yup, I’m on the move again, this time to the beautiful island of Negros in the Visayas.

I’m actually going to be there with my family, as we have a big clan reunion over the weekend, but naturally, we’re taking some time to do some sightseeing. Negros is divided into two provinces, Negros Occidental (Western Negros, capital city: Bacolod) and Negros Oriental (Eastern Negros, capital city: Dumaguete).

My family will be staying at Silay City, just north of Bacolod (and where the airport is actually located). We’ll be exploring Silay and Bacolod (and perhaps Ruins in Talisay City) for the first few days, then after the reunion, we’ll be headed to Dumaguete and, hopefully, Apo Island.

It’s a great way to cap the summer months, and just in time, too; the rains are starting to trickle in again.

See you soon!
