This is the second part of my weekend trip to Pulau Tioman, Malaysia, reimagined as two legs of The Amazing Race.
Last weekend, I took a quick trip from Singapore to Pulau Tioman, Malaysia. Here is what happened on my trip, presented as a fictional leg on The Amazing Race.
When I travel, there are a lot of things I try to look out for. But there's one particular travel goal that perhaps sets me apart from many other travelers. I love visiting Olympic stadiums.
Bangkok is my first trip of 2012. This would be my fifth trip to the Thai capital since I first visited in February 2010. Here are some reasons why I keep going back to this city.
The temptation of taking off to Shanghai for even a short trip was too great for me to ignore. With the new high-speed train in operation, it would be very easy to hop on a train, see a bit of Shanghai, then head back to Beijing.
I’d previously come up with a list of things I wanted to do in Beijing. I’m happy to say that I did most of those things on the list, but with one notable exception.
On Wednesday morning, I’ll be flying to Beijing. This will be my first ever trip to China, so naturally I’m more than a little excited. It seems like there’s so much to do in Beijing. Here are some things I definitely want to do while I’m actually there.
Last Thursday, I woke up hungover shortly before 11am. Upon gathering my senses, I decided I was going to China on the following week. Three hours after waking up and making that decision, I got my Chinese visa approved. Incredible? Sort of.
I have touched down in Penang, Malaysia! After trouble getting out of the airport, I made a new friend and tried some delicious curry mee!
Apart from travel, theatre is one of my passions. I've been involved with theatre since 2003, and I do my best to watch plays and musicals when I get the chance. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, then, that I watched three shows during my two weeks in Europe.
Last Thursday, 30 June 2011, was the last day of operations of Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. I found some information on Facebook about plans for a party aboard the last train pulling into that station, departing from Segamat in Malaysia. It was the perfect send-off to a historic location.

It has been three weeks since I returned from my first ever trip to Europe. The high of that trip is long gone, but I still get mild doses of enjoyment whenever I reminisce about my two short weeks there.
