As the year comes to an end, it’s time for all those “Best of” and retrospective posts. This blog is no different. Yes, it’s an excuse to highlight some of the best – or at least most popular – posts on the blog in the past year.
(Results are based on statistics until 27 December 2010.)
Definitely the post that got me the most traffic this year (getting roughly thrice as many hits as the next most popular post), not to mention blogger/Twitter attention. (It was even retweeted by @lonelyplanet.)At its peak, the post got 363 hits (on 27 April); in April and May, the post averaged more than 50 hits per day.
Special Mention: Slums Along Pasig River
The former was the most popular Picture of the Week posted this year. The latter had more total hits, but was posted in 2009.
Kings of Convenience performed at Singapore’s Mosaic Music Festival. I was fortunate enough to catch them live; they were amazing! You can check out my photos from their concert in Singapore here.
These are the posts that got the most hits this year, regardless of when they were first posted. My San Fernando, Pampanga series remains as one of the most popular topics on the site. Meanwhile, only three posts from this year actually made the list.
1. 7 Tips to Save Money in Singapore
2. San Fernando, Pampanga: Part Two – Heritage Sites and Buildings
3. San Fernando, Pampanga: Part One – Food Tripping
4. 5 Typical Tourist Things I Do (and Not Ashamed to Admit!)
5. San Fernando, Pampanga: Part Three – Giant Lantern Festival 2008
6. VIGAN! Day Two
7. SM Mall of Asia Grand Festival of Lights Parade and Firefly Singing Christmas Tree
8. Bangkok Delicious: A Thai Food Adventure
9. Day Three (02-Apr-09): Goodnight Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
10. The Big Trip – Day One (31-Mar-09): Moto, Pho, and Uncle Ho (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
